We guarantee that the cost of your GLP-1 medication with insurance will be $25/month or less after any deductible is met, or you’re eligible for a refund minus the cost of your first doctor visit ($249). Our team is committed to working with your insurance company so you don’t have to. This policy is designed to help all of our members sign up with confidence.

Calibrate uses manufacturer patient access programs for eligible patients to bring cost to $25/month or less. These programs are subject to change.

You can request a refund if you do not receive coverage of GLP-1 medication for $25/month or less (after any deductible is met) once the Calibrate team has worked through all standard medication approval processes, which can take up to 6 weeks after your doctor appointment.

After 6 weeks, you can request a refund by emailing membership@joincalibrate.com. If you paid by credit or debit card you will receive a refund on the card on file per our terms and conditions, and the refund amount will appear on your card within three to five business days of confirming you are refund eligible. 

If you paid via Affirm, Calibrate will submit the refund via Affirm within ten days of confirmation you are refund eligible. Affirm will then credit any payments you have made and you will see the refund reflected in your loan balance on Affirm within three to ten business days (more details here). 

If you switch insurance and lose GLP-1 coverage mid-program and wish to cancel, you may request a pro-rated refund based on how long you have been in the program. The Calibrate team will determine the final amount of your pro-rated refund.  

By accepting a refund, you are choosing to terminate your One-Year Metabolic Reset. Medication Coverage Guarantee only applies to your first full year on the One-Year Metabolic Reset (i.e., does not apply for Masters members). Terms subject to change.

We’re currently not able to accept members who are uninsured, or who are covered by government insurance (including Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare), or with Kaiser plans. We’ve found that these plans do not typically cover the medications that your Calibrate medical team will prescribe.    

If you want to join Calibrate and are looking to sign up for a different insurance plan during Open Enrollment, here are characteristics of plans that typically cover the medications that Calibrate doctors prescribe: 

• Commercial insurance (e.g. Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, etc.) that you receive through an employer (excluding Kaiser plans)
• If you choose a high deductible plan, choose one with a deductible that you'll be able to meet (you’ll need to pay through any deductible before your plan will start covering the medication) 

If you’d like to confirm that your commercial/employer insurance plan covers the medications that Calibrate doctors order/prescribe before joining Calibrate, you can reach out directly to your insurer and ask the following question: 

• Does my plan cover GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide) medications? If not, is step therapy an option?

If we are unable to help you secure GLP-1 coverage at $25/month or less (after any deductible is hit), we can end your program and issue a refund before you fill your first month’s medication per our Medication Coverage Guarantee.

We’ll work with your commercial/employer insurance to get your labs and medication covered. Medication should be capped at $25 or less per month after any deductible is met.

If you’d like to confirm that your commercial/employer insurance plan covers the medications and labs that Calibrate doctors prescribe/order before joining Calibrate, you can reach out directly to your insurer and ask the following questions: 

Does my plan cover GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide) medications? 

• If not, is step therapy an option?

Does my plan cover the following lab tests? Is there a copay? 

• Hemoglobin A1c 
• Lipid panel 
• Comprehensive metabolic panel 
• Fasting insulin test
• High sensitivity C-reactive protein 
• Thyroid-stimulating hormone

If the medications are covered, the GLP-1 medication copay should be capped at $25 or less per month after any deductible is met. Keep in mind that the medication coverage can require information from your lab results to get insurance approval.

If you have a high-deductible health plan, you'll need to pay through the deductible before your medications are covered by your plan. Since the GLP-1 medications that Calibrate doctors currently prescribe are brand-name medications, high-deductible plans will not cover them before you reach your deductible (which may differ from their coverage of other—typically generic—medications).

While rare, if you're in any way unsatisfied with your insurance plan’s coverage of your medications, we can end your program and issue a refund before you fill your first month’s medication. See our refund policy for full details.
